"Silent Tears" ________________________
"A Human Tragedy in Lebanon that is depicted through tears in
the beautiful eyes of Haifa..." It is their first night away from the nurturing love of the only mother they have ever known... The night seems so long... and so dark... Suddenly thrown in a sea of confusion and torment, their hurt never seems to have an end... Their tears never seem to know how to stop... The sun of the morning after washes away the horrors of the night, and the helpless children wake up to find themselves in a cruel new reality... an estranged reality of the love of a mother lost... so unnecessarily... Many of us know Haifa Wehbeh... Many of us love her... and many of us, after all those years, have no clue about Haifa's silent turmoil... It is the story of a daughter that Haifa had delivered twelve years ago after 9 months inside her... Haifa's truth is that she has not seen her daughter, her own flesh and blood, for close to ten years. Due to the preposterous Lebanese child custody laws, Haifa's brilliant ex-husband has engaged in cruel parental alienation for over 10 years during which Haifa has not seen or heard from her daughter. Whatever happened to basic human decency and common sense? Whatever happened to the best interest of the child? Whatever happened to loving our children unconditionally and offering them a safe existence? How can such a society of brilliant civilized Lebanese people fall victim to such utter ignorance and unconscionable crimes? Haifa is one Lebanese mother affected by this criminal social injustice.... Naila, Gina and Sendrella are other Lebanese mothers affected by this criminal social injustice.... and the list of Lebanese mothers affected by such unconscionable miscarriage of justice continues on and on... But let us not forget the weakest of us all... The biggest negative impact of this criminal social injustice falls on the lives and hearts of helpless children subjected to such unnecessary cruel parental alienation... children that, as a civilized society, we all have a moral obligation to protect!.. . children who will be scarred for life as a result of such venomous and senseless crimes by their own Lebanese fathers... We all must fight for what is RIGHT!.... Let me be the one to first say it loud and clear and without any spin or political correctness: "The Lebanese fathers of any religion who choose to engage in such parental alienation and criminal social injustice are nothing short of scum bags"... The Lebanese religious institutions and the Lebanese Authorities that either allow such behavior or turn a blind eye on such criminal acts should hold their faces in shame.. I don't care what the absurd Lebanese Custody laws say, such parental alienation is nothing short of criminal child torture and child abuse... and endangering the welfare of a child!... Every child deserves a continuous loving relationship with BOTH parents... Every child needs the love of both parents at all times... When a Lebanese father alienates his children from their Lebanese mother, he inflicts on them unspeakable sadness, confusion, great sense of loss, and emotional and psychological scars that time will never ever be able to heal... It is OUR duty to protect each and every Lebanese child!... I am outraged at this deafening silence by everyone.... including YOU!.... Yes, YOU!... Do something!.... Do anything... and do it today!... Every voice counts... and every effort counts.... Although typical Lebanese laziness... the same Lebanese who do absolutely nothing and leave it to others to do all the work... will make such critical changes a very long and enduring process... my hope is that my pwerful campaign will help bring such changes in time for Haifa, Gina, Naila and Sendrella...
