Reciting the Holy Rosary with Abouna Jean

After a scrumptious, full course Lebanese dinner and Sahra "amongst friends", Abouna Jean invited us to go to church and kneel in front of the Virgin Mary's shrine and Nativity Scene to recite the Holy Rosary.

We all partook in reciting the Rosary as Abouna Jean, like a good shepherd, led the prayers.  We prayed for each and everyone present, for those who were sick and need help in the community and for Lebanon. But what was truly inspiring was the altruistic genuine nature of Abouna Jean who sincerely started praying for people he does not even know… people who probably will never know he was praying for them… The wonder of it all is that one would know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Abouna had the ear of God at that moment!...

When I mentioned to Abouna Jean my true sense that he is following the path of Cardinals... He responded with a soft smile "Ya 3ammi... Let me just try to be a good priest!"... and, folks, the Truth I tell you... This Holy Man does not need to try!...

All in all, it was a true to heart healing experience and a New Course in Miracles... In our perpetual search for truth and understanding, it was a simple lesson in selflessness, humility, genuine fellowship, good energy and inner joy.  With such uplifting and unblemished purity, one can find comfort in recognizing that somehow.. somewhere... deep within us lies a place of infinite love... a place I call... the fountain of Hope!...
