Dear Nabil

I want to thank you for going out of your way to join us at the Salaam Club annual Holiday Dance. I know you traveled far and had to make arrangements for your daughter. We were happy to have you with us and judging by your smiling face you looked like you were enjoying it.

Earlier, when I mentioned to my wife that I was going to email you, she suggested that I check out your website and, sure enough, you were already writing an article about the event.

An event of this kind requires an awful amount of time, energy and patience and they deserve appreciation for a truly memorable event.

Meantime, my wife and I very much hope to see you again at one of the many holiday events coming up this season.

Once again, thanks.

Dear Nabil,

... I was hopeful that I might receive an endorsement from the Lebanese community website based on the inclusiveness and helpfulness of my Administration to the Lebanese community during my nearly eight years in public service...  Additionally, as you noted, I appointed as one of my top directors a fine gentleman of Lebanese descent, Lloyd Jacobs, who serves as Hamilton's Director of Engineering, Planning & Inspections.

Based on the record I have established, I was hopeful that the Lebanese community in Hamilton, as represented by the Lebanese website, would provide an endorsement to me as they had done for Councilwoman Yaede when she first ran for office.

Thank you.

Mayor Glen D. Gilmore

NoteThis pleasant e-mail came to me from Glen D. Gilmore, the good Mayor of Hamilton township, NJ and who was looking for LCNJ's support in his re-election on November 6, 2007.  He followed it up with a heartwarming phone call on Tuesday October 14, 2007 at 5:58pm. LCNJ implemented a very powerful strategic election campaign for Mayor Glen Gilmore and, in spite of a major event two days before Election Day which served a severe political blow to Mayor Gilmore, the final votes were very close. 13,126 to 12,527.

Dear Nabil,

Your article about "Abouna Jean" reveals your efforts at seeing the best in people. I have to say that my little acquaintance with you seems to indicate that you bring the best in them too. Your article was informative, yes, but it pulsated with generous energy, even as you critique violence. Can you hear the applause?

As a writer yourself I am sure that you understand the lure of words strung together with passion that fountains from the loins of your life. Then perhaps you can imagine how touched I am that you wish to feature some of my writings on your Web site. Your unsolicited belief in my work is more valuable than the many I do solicit. Shukran!

Attached is what our conversation on Friday has inspired. I hope that you will like it. Thank you, Nabil, for this friendship.

All the best,

Hello Nabil.

I feel that the Lebanese abroad are the first and last hope for Lebanon. We need to be the best example on how the "Ta3ayosh", respect, and democracy can extinguish the fire of "Ta2ifiyaih" forever. There is a large number of Lebanese people abroad who are sick and tired of all the politicians. All what these politicians are doing is shuffling chairs on board of the titanic!! I feel sorry for the people there. I am disgusted with ALL the politicians and disappointed with the religious figures for getting sucked into the mud placed in front of them. I hope I am not offending either of you as I value your opinions and contributions.

God bless the helpless people in Lebanon who all they want from life is living it! Lebanon will rise again.

Hi Nabil,

I got a quick glimpse of your June Newsletter and I was on the verge of tears when I viewed the Cedars of Lebanon video, it reminded me of my younger years when I would go and visit my grandmother Galia Succar in Becharri......It brought back such beautiful, happy memories for me.....I cannot thank you enough as many Lebanese do as well, for spreading such a positive, good Christian message to all. God has given you a tool to educate us and to enrich our lives with beautiful, inspiring words and messages. You do not use your forum as a negative, hurtful, bias or angry platform. It is not used against anything or anyone that angers you. That in and of itself is extremely admirable and must be commended greatly. I am a firm believer that what goes around in life comes around and when you spread the word of God and goodness you are therefor doing his work here on earth.......Merci,,,,,,,ektir,,,,and may St. Sharbel always bless you and fill your life with a wealth of good health and happiness.....I wish you a peaceful and restful summer.....

Subject: Re: A Message from Nabil to Bishop Gregory

dear nabil

thank you for your kind email...glad you found the article helpful...i would be glad to assist in ways you deem helpful...i think it is important to speak freely about the message God has for us...

i am not holy, but desire to be...

special hello to your daughter...

+ gregory

الموارنةImportant Note: This heartwarming email from his Excellency Bishop Gregory Mansour -- and, for the record, it was I who replaced his e-mail address with His title.  That holy and humble man of the church simply refers to himself as just "gregory"... and you cannot help but have that feeling that he is your genuine friend.  I am not saying His Excellency should be without imperfections or sins!... We all, to various extents, are sinners... and that is the reason we, as Christians, need Jesus Christ as our Savior. He just is, to me at least, the personification of what a priest, "a Messenger of God" should be.

His e-mail was in timely response to an e-mail I sent to him two days before, in which I shared with him my lifelong vision of an open dialog between average Christians like me, on the one hand, and the holy men of the church, on the other hand, in the form of quarterly "Conversations with God" through His Messengers on earth... conversations that would be enjoyable, engaging, fun and a true celebration of life and a revival of our Christian Spirit as they help us all find answers to Life's unanswered questions starting and ending with "What is the meaning of Life and what is the purpose of our Existence"...  I contacted Him after I read one of his many uplifting online articles at http://www.stmaron.org/articles.html.

What struck me in his e-mail, amongst so many other things, was its simplicity, "gregory's" awe-inspiring humility, and his eagerness to be helpful.   Through no fault of his, my eyes were clouded just seeing his signature line... "gregory"... I repeat for the nth time... if you have not had the exceptional experience of meeting this humble holy man in person and listening to one of his enchanting sermons, you can do so, no matter what your religion or sect is at Our lady of Lebanon Cathedral at 109 Remsen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201.

Hi Nabil,

I am always very proud of your great job you do on maintaining a great web work that promote cultural relations, We would hope to have you on the boards of directors of the WLCU US National council and Chapters and be the head of the Cultural event promoting your cultural cause so we all stick into a close culture and bring the binding among our communities. Always remember the Lebanese people and Lebanon needs us very much and in order to do the right thing we must work hard in building a very strong organization, I don't thing the WLCU will ever find any body more qualified than you for that position.
Remember again Lebanon needs us and WLCU needs you.

May God Bless you

Dear Nabil,

I am glad we have such a Lebanese site. It shows the joy of life that the Lebanese deserve and knows at best.

I will circulate the site among all the people i know, and most importantly, i noticed now, i will promote it among the Lebanese who has business.

Good luck !

N.B. Hope that the next step will be toward displaying the intellectual and scientific activities and at a later step toward educational political productive communication among Lebanese to create more acceptance and tolerance of each other and be a bridge to the Lebanese in Lebanon.

Dear Nabil,

It was a pleasure to meet you and your lovely daughter, Nicole on Saturday -- She seemed to really enjoy herself and I am happy she was able to meet my daughter and friends...

You did a fabulous job with the photos and videos! I did not realize you had taken so many shots -- what a great job! Also thank you for the generous accolades... although Tom and I cannot take all the credit --we had a very competent team that all worked tirelessly -- Said Habeiche, Zahia Abi-Habib, Claire Habib, Joe Shaia, and of course Marwan and his team, were phenomenal in getting everything out in record time which is no small feat for a sold out event....

Again, many many thanks!

Hey Nabil,

I hope this email finds you well.  I appreciate the emails and updates from you regarding Lebanese events in our area.  You are doing a fine job.  I know that there is a Ehden party coming up this weekend.  However, if people want to stay local, there is a party at Nassif's restaurant in Somerville....   I am attaching the flyer for more information. All are welcome, especially you. Hopefully I will get to join the "Sahra" gang one of these weekends when I am not working.

Keep up the great work Nabil.

Roukos

Hello, Nabil.  I appreciate your help in connecting with Lebanese-Americans in northern New Jersey.

I'm a reporter for the Herald News, and I am trying to reach people who still have a strong connection to Lebanon - people who visit often, people who send packages to family still in Lebanon, people who still have active friendships or close ties to family there - to talk about their experiences and thoughts on the escalating violence between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.  My telephone number is (973) 569-7164, and my cell phone is (973) 868-0819. I will be on the streets of Paterson and Clifton today trying to reach out to people that way as well, so my cell phone may be the best way to reach me.  I would prefer to speak with people who are willing to give their names from Passaic, Bergen or Essex Counties.

Nabil, thank you so much. It was lovely speaking with you, and I hope that I will be able to connect to some people.

Take care,

Ashley Kindergan

 Dear Nabil,

How are you? I hope you doing fine...

I'm leaving Lebanon to the US on Sept 27, and I'll be staying there at my friend in NJ.

The book "Pythagoras the Mathemagician" is scheduled for release in Sept 23 to Sept 30, and I'm already scheduled for book signings on Oct 1 in NJ, and Oct 16, 17 in Waterbury, and Oct 20 in Washington at the Lebanese Embassy. More to come, I hope.

It would be helpful if you could list on your website my tour in the US or at least the event in Oct 1 in NJ.

You could also get the new cover from my site and post it there linking it to where my book is already listed: Barnes & Noble, Borders and Amazon booksellers.

Please check the booksellers’ websites from this link for pre-order:

 Thank you for your time,

Dear Nabil
It was nice to meet you this past Friday.

I appreciate what you did and are doing for Auxilia.

It takes a collective effort in order to improve the situation of many needy people in our beloved Lebanon.

Please see what you can do to help get us sponsorships of needy orphans, ranging between $40 & $112 per month; I still have 300 families who are in desperate need for help.

Always feel free to contact me, and thank you
