Bishop Gregory J. Mansour of Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral recently reached a noteworthy milestone: 25 years of priesthood. The cathedral parish and the chancery staff will be celebrating his “Silver Jubilee” at a Liturgy of Thanksgiving on Sunday, September 16 at 11 a.m. This event is being followed by a reception in their cathedral hall.
RSVP was requested for the reception by September 9, but LCNJ just received this information before the weekend.

Sur scčne, on trouvera entre autres l'Algérien Cheb Khaled, surnommé le roi du raď, qui partage son temps entre la France et l'Algérie, la chanteuse Asala, originaire de Syrie, le chanteur égyptien trčs engagé Mohammad Mounir, l'Irakien Rida Al Abdallah, le groupe rap palestinien Dam, qui réunit trois jeunes originaires de la ville de Lod, prčs de Jérusalem. On y rencontrera aussi le chanteur de hip-hop Hasan Salaam, qui vit aux États-Unis. Les chanteuses montréalaises Khalida Azzouza et Chantal Chamandy sont aussi du programme. Araband prévoit aussi de la danse arabe.

En marge des spectacles, des stands présenteront de la gastronomie et de l'artisanat. Mais l'accent sera mis sur la musique, ce qui n'est pas le cas du Festival du monde arabe, qui fait aussi une large place aux idées.
