The "Holier than Thou" Syndrome

That fake "Holier than Thou" Syndrome cannot get any more ridiculous in our Lebanese Community..

Without naming any names and without betraying any confidence, I am talking about this social ailment  in general.

Just be aware that the very same sanctimonious people who are ever so intolerant and rush to criticize and "talk behind" other Lebanese, are the ones with the most skeletons in their closets.

In the future, and unless I see a real change in the intolerance and gossip and "half-truths" in the Lebanese Community, I will start revealing some shocking information about Lebanese women and men engaging in the unthinkable in private... while claiming to be "Holier than Thou" and saying bad things about other fellow Lebanese in the open.  You know exactly who you are!...

New Earth-like Planet
Are we alone in the Universe?

European astronomers have found an Earth-like planet outside our solar system.

While Earth orbits our sun in 365 and 1/4 days, the small planet  called 581 c, orbits the tiny, low energy, sun-like red star Gliese 581 in just just 13 days.

It is located approximately 120 trillion miles away from Earth in the constellation Libra.  Travel to 581c can take 20 light years, or 800,000 years in continuous travel time.

Its size is close to the size of the Earth and could conceivably house life outside our solar system. Its gravity is 1.6 times as strong as Earth gravity, so  you'd weigh a lot more than you do on Earth.

The temperature in this alien setting will likely be a lot like Earth's -- not too hot, not too cold.   Also, it is likely that the planet doesn't rotate, so one side would always be sunlit and the other dark.

Opportunistic Friends

Whatever happened to genuine friendships within the Lebanese Community?

With the exception of very few close, trusted and unselfish friends I have, the majority of "friends" in the Lebanese Community seem to be opportunistic...

Whatever happened to "everyone in the Lebanese Community is your friend"?...  the way it is supposed to be?

Whatever happened to "your neighbor is your family member?"...

There is an illness in the Lebanese Community... many "friends" will not call you unless they want something from you...  many "friends" will not bother to ask how you are doing after they get what they want from you... until they want something from you again.

I hear stories from some Lebanese day in and day out of "how excited" they get when they meet a new Lebanese friend... only to hear them 2 weeks  later saying bad things, often lies, about their new "friends".  ENOUGH ALREADY!...

I see and hear many Lebanese "friends" being quick to judge their new and old "friends" and all of a sudden start gossiping and saying to me the worse things about them ... This is WRONG!...

The Moral of this is:  My fellow Lebanese... Be patient with one another... Always give others the benefit of the doubt... Assume Good Faith... Ignore gossip!..  Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear... We ALL have imperfections... No one is without sin!.. Most of us will say the wrong thing at times.  Judge a fellow Lebanese by ALL of his or her actions and not by one or two "wrongs" that he or she makes"... Grow up already!...
