Let Restaurants know!...

We get over 50 e-mails and 20 calls every day asking about a Lebanese business or a restaurant.

You can help yourself and LCNJ as well as save the valuable time of other visitors like yourself by being proactive and telling each and every Lebanese, Arabic and other restaurant you see listed on www.lcnj.com  that you saw them listed on www.lcnj.com but you have had to jump through hoops to find their address or phone number... as the next person who may need Lebanese information may be... you...

Once every restaurant we advertise contacts us at sales@lcnj.com and gives us their address and phone, we will be able to list them for a small advertising fee.

This way our website will benefit.... Also, all the visitors will benefit... and, equally important, the restaurants will benefit from the additional income generated from visitors that see them through on our high visibility website every single day.

Know Your Lebanon

  • The population of Lebanon is currently 4 Million.

  • There are 16 million people of Lebanese descent in Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Colombia, France, Great Britain, Mexico, Venezuela, the US all over the world

  • In Lebanon,  40% are Christians (Maronites, Catholics, Greek Orthodox, Armenian, Assyrian, Chaldeans), 35% are Shia, 21% are Sunni and 5% are Druze.

Lebanese Social Scene

  • With the exception of these difficulty times nowadays, the Lebanese in Lebanon enjoy life to the fullest.  They are masters of socializing and having fun. That’s what we miss the most in the U.S.  In Lebanon, your neighbor is like a member of your family. 50-60 people get together at neighbors' homes every evening.

  • Starbucks in Beirut is packed every single night.  There are hundreds of places to socialize and they are all crowded every night of the week. Every night during the week feels like Friday or Saturday night.

Will we ever live up to our Lebanese roots?

Current Situation in Lebanon
بَركي بْيُوعى الضَمير

A friend of mine just came back from Lebanon recently.  The situation is very dark and gloomy!....  With no end in sight, the senseless breakdown in communication between pro and anti-government forces and the demonstrations that are paralyzing the country are placing undue hardship and taking a major toll on the Lebanese in Lebanon.  All I can say now is:  "God forgive them for they know not what they do!"...

With work coming to a halt in certain areas, and businesses severely affected, the average Lebanese are very worried about their source of income and the means to feed their families... Lebanese women, yes actual Lebanese women, are doing the unthinkable to make ends meet!...  A Mark of unspeakable Shame on Lebanon!

No longer there is a social life... Restaurants and clubs that used to be packed every night are now near  empty....  there is no night life in Jounieh, Kaslik and Monot.  The Lebanese, known for their hospitality and welcoming smiles seem to have lost the ability to smile.

When will this cruelty all end?  When will Lebanon have some relief and some sense of normalcy?  Let's hope that each and every Lebanese, including politicians and their "blind" supporters, will from this moment on, start following a calling greater than their shameful self-interest, and does what is right by others and by Lebanon.

Pray for Lebanon

Your Comments

Follow up: March 6, 2007 - Our Prayers for Lebanon have been answered.   After 3 months of demonstrations, strikes and street clashes, a deal seems to be imminent to end the unrest in Lebanon.

March 13, 2007 - Lebanese Police arrested the criminals  who carried out the two senseless bus bombing in Ain Alaq on February 13 and confiscated a large quantity of explosives.

"Bonanza"... Innocence Lost!

If you have never watched an episode of Bonanza, you really should!... Yeah, yeah, I know... in this  ADD-plagued world we live in, none of you has time to relax... sit down and watch TV... let alone watch Bonanza Re-runs...

Well, once in a while, I manage to catch an episode of Bonanza here and there... and it never fails!... The eloquent simplicity of a lost era... the grandeur of the human decency... the heartwarming story lines... defending the weak... the random acts of kindness... all blend in together to show the beauty of the human spirit... and leave you with a general feeling of well being...

Try it... and let me know your comments

The Power of Communication!...

95% of our success in Life lies in the way we communicate.  So, in fostering enjoyable human relations amongst Lebanese, do the following:

Communicate accurately!...
Only say what you mean... and always mean what you say!...
Be nice!...
Be Sincere!...
Do not gossip!...
Don't be a liar
Be 100% reliable!...
Give your word and stick to it.  Don't spin!...
Always do what is right!...
Be Polite... Be Compassionate... Be Kind!...
Be Patient!..
.  Get to know others for who they really are
Never rush to judgment.  Take time to know other people
Do not talk bad about others behind their backs
Do not be selfish... Do not be self-centered
Live your life with honor
Don't be a
Flunkoo ... the slimy chicken man!...

Note from the Publisher:  While LCNJ honors the strong spiritual and religious dimensions of our Lebanese Culture and may, from time to time, emphasize our commitment to that part of our human existence, LCNJ has hundreds of other dimensions that are unrelated to spiritual and religious fulfillment and we never ever claim to be "Holier than Thou".  We all have our flaws and imperfections.  Our main focus, at LCNJ , remains to disseminate positive energy, point out the wrong and ludicrous, and nurture social bonding amongst Lebanese worldwide as we continue, with close to 3 Million visitors a year and growing, to be the most powerfulpositive” image of Lebanon on the internet worldwide.
