Solutions for a Better Lebanon The effective solutions we desperately need for a better Lebanon now do not lie in the continuation of what has not worked for decades... It does not lie in the hate-mongering speeches and the senseless venomous verbal attacks amongst politicians... It lies in overlooking the past... finding what is good in every Lebanese... and directing all Lebanese, including politicians, towards saying and doing the RIGHT things that show their true love for Lebanon, working in Lebanon's best interest... and preserving the "Lebanese way of life". More than their own self interest... more than the obscene amount of power and money they can accumulate, each and every Lebanese at heart, including politicians and clergy, longs for one thing: living with dignity and prosperity in a peaceful and beautiful Lebanon...

The U.N. and Lebanon had agreed last year that a special tribunal based outside Lebanon would try the case. At the request of Lebanon, the U.N. Security Council voted on June 10, 2007 to set up the special court, despite opposition from anti-government forces.
General Michel Aoun Unless something unforeseen happens, it is now more and more likely that General Aoun will not be the one elected as the next President of Lebanon since he does not have the votes. In any case, as is typical of the ever changing Lebanese historical alliances and in line with the traditions of the Lebanese political system, former President General Aoun’s temporary alliance with Hizballah may or may not be just a vehicle for him to help him reach the Presidency after hw was unable to earn the support of the mainstream Christians in Lebanon…
Former President Shaikh Amine Gemayel announced his candidacy in Al Matn in the upcoming disputed parliamentary by-elections on August 5, 2007 and stated that he will be running for the deputy seat of his late son Shaikh Pierre Amine Gemayel. Best of luck to Shaikh Amine in Al Matn and all the other candidates for the Lebanese parliament. | |||||||
