A Silver Jubilee Celebration for our beloved Bishop
His Excellency Gregory Mansour
an article by Nabil, the Publisher of LCNJ

Where does one start to give honor to such humble and Holy Servant of God?
They came to celebrate his 25th Anniversary of priesthood from everywhere in the U.S... California, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey etc... to be with the Holy man they love... on this historical occasion... Some knew "gregory", as he humbly refers to himself, for over 25 years...
Why is this such a historical occasion? Not only that it is a historical occasion in the life and times of a beloved Bishop, in the life an times of the parishioners of Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral in Brooklyn, this Silver Jubilee takes a new dimension of enormous proportions when we look to the future...
I said it before in one of my previous articles (Ref) and I say it again now; Bishop Gregory's genuine piety, body language, congeniality, good positive energy, levity, wisdom, low key demeanor, and "little known" sacrifices in the name of Christ, all draw a striking resemblance to another Holy Man of our Roman Catholic Church, the late Pope, Saint John Paul II, who at least to me, has always personified the true spirit of sainthood. Bishop Gregory's mesmerizing voice and showmanship simply add that "je ne sais quoi" to the mystique of that good Man of God!... I can clearly predict the making of a future Cardinal... and possibly a Pope in the years to come...
I arrived at the Cathedral just around 10:30 am this Sunday morning... only to find "gregory" alone at the door... He embraced and welcomed me warmly as he always does, and we caught up on things since we last saw each other... he never fails to ask about my daughter Nicole... and always has the nicest heartfelt words to compliment her...

They flew in from Los AngelesJust as we were about to finish our pleasant conversation, and His Excellency was about, as usual, to go inside the Cathedral for his "private" Conversation with God, three delightful ladies that flew in all the way from Los Angeles for this exceptional occasion, surprised him when they walked in. They all embraced and one can see the joy on everyone's faces... After the 3 ladies, followed a caravan of parishioners who were coming in the Cathedral embracing and greeting their beloved Bishop.
His Excellency was finally able to walk inside the Cathedral to say his prayers... interrupted here and there by good parishioners unaware of his silent prayers... yet displaying utter grace in balancing his time with God and his time with his good parishioners...
All in all, the celebration was a pleasant one that combined piety, good food, and a pleasant atmosphere...
