Our Sahra on Saturday January 29. 2005 in pictures... More Lebanese "Joie de Vivre"
Well... there goes another informal Lebanese Dinner that was a heartwarming success... Many cooperated to make this fun Lebanese event happen... Many heartfelt thanks go to each and every one who attended... especially the few who proactively contributed to the preparation, inviting guests and the implementation of the Sahra... including but not limited to, Adib, Elie, Yola, Nassif, Nawal, Tacla, Roukos, Tante Geneviève and Nabil...
It was uplifting to see almost everyone at the Hafleh be "down to earth", get up an dance, be silly, have fun, and be the true "Life of the Party" and the true essence of our Lebanese "Joie de Vivre"... To mention just a few, a big salute goes to Ghada, Yomna, Gisèle, Tacla, Nassif, Nabil, Roukos, Yola, Adam, Jean Paul, Nesrine, Shadia, Tony, Elie, Rola, George, and each and everyone who took part in "creating an atmosphere"...
We also extend a sincere invitation to our fellow Lebanese who missed out on such a great evening to come and join us in the future. The Lebanese Club aims to include everyone that has great love for the Lebanese Christian Culture and bring the Lebanese together on a regular basis...
At the Lebanese Club-NJ (www.lcnj.com), consistent with our genuine Christian faith and true Lebanese humility, we invite EVERY Lebanese not to judge other Lebanese (we ALL have negativities)!... not to gossip (Let him who is without sin cast the first stone)!... to be sincerely down to earth, to speak very highly of fellow Lebanese focusing on the POSITIVE and overlooking the negativities...
Most importantly, do not speak ill or use words that hurt other fellow Lebanese, as the person who may end up being hurt... is you!...
Our Sahra was a true expression of our Lebanese Social Bonding... The "classiest and most respected" Lebanese women just let their hair down, created an awesome party atmosphere and danced all night.. The over inflated egos were left at the door (or stayed home)... It was such a fun non-smoking atmosphere that brought out the best of the Lebanese humility, hospitality, generosity, pursuit of pleasure and love for life...
From the great selection of Lebanese and arabic music by Roukos and the nice decoration, to the excellent "all you can eat" Lebanese Buffet by Nassif that included some of the most delicious and mouth watering Lebanese platters... starting with the Kebbeh and Saoda nayyeh (NOBODY does the Kebbeh Nayyeh and tabbouleh better than Nassif)... an extensive and generous "freshly prepared" Lebanese maza and bzouraat, "freshly cooked" HOT mashawi and HOT riz 3a djaej, sodas, soft drinks, ice and water... all the way to Lebanese dessert and coffee, ALL for an unheard of $25 a person... $15 for young adults and $5 for children under 10 years old...
Three generations of Lebanese partied together in total harmony in a fun family atmosphere... and each generation, married and single, was dancing, laughing, partying and having a great time... Our kids were allowed to freely socialize amongst each other, dance as they please, run around and play... "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these!"... All that, while us parents were having an equally great time... No one was excluded from having lots of fun!... At the Lebanese Club, parents will never be asked to pay full price for a little kid or leave their kids with a baby sitter to come to a Lebanese evening with us!...
